Getting to the airport early had a wonderful benefit. Brenda was able to get a couple of upgrades. She wanted me to have business class and she took premium economy. Michael, Erin and Anders were able to have 3 seats together that would make their flight easier with little 2 year old Anders. So settled in our respective seats, we were ready to take off on time!
I didn’t know that the flight at 6:30 p.m. was actually the red eye. At least when I looked in the mirror in the bathroom … that is exactly what I had. A blood vessel burst in my eye. How lovely! What a catch I am. Oh well as long as I am able to see the wonderful sights that are waiting for me, I guess I don’t really care what colour my eye is.
Around 11:00 home time, I tried very hard to sleep in my little pod, however a good rest without zzzz’s was all I was able to achieve. I was comfortable, just restless – sit up…recline…lie down… too hot…sit up…stand up…turn on air…recline…lie down…too cool…grab blanket…get cozy…have to pee…take off blanket…recline to sitting try to get up…seat belt still on…ahhh the life of the certainly not rich and not at all famous. But ever so grateful for the experience of this wonderful way to fly.
Our flight was
direct…left on time and arrived on time – getting into Heathrow around 11:30 am
– It is a lovely sunny day!
We rode the
underground from the airport to a station that was only about a 10 minute walk to get to the hotel where we are staying. Glad I am
traveling with a backpack and a medium suitcase and no other luggage. We are settled in our room and after a brief
rest we will go out and have a bite to eat.
Prolly go to bed around 8:00 tonight..lol

Sophie slept for you! Hope your days keep getting better and better.
What a wonderful extra Brenda wangled for you all. Business class and travelling in a pod! Don't forget the sleep amenities in those small bottles. One after a snack or dinner usually does it for me. But then you miss all the other goodies they constantly assail you with. Don't leave any tray untried.
Glad you are safely there and ready for fun!
Bring on the Blog!
Brian
